Onward to Yukon’s capital city of Whitehorse!! Another 5 hours of driving which seemed to zip by. I stopped in Teslin to top up on fuel, and the Nisutlin Trading Post had one of those fake cop cars out front. It actually looks pretty real from a distance, a neat idea to try and get people to slow down:

Ended up staying at the Best Western Gold Rush Inn in downtown Whitehorse, a bit pricey and I’m not sure if it was because it was a Best Western or because I’m in Whitehorse, or a little of both. It did have some extra amenities like a gym and a spa. Other than that, it wasn’t any more of a big deal than other places I’ve stayed at along the way for a lot less. Oh well, YOLO (You only live once)!!!

Lots of stuff was within walking distance of the hotel, so that was nice. There were neat little shops everywhere and interesting looking buildings. And Starbucks!! Definitely going there in the morning 😛

Looks like Whitehorse has some hockey fans:

This surveying monument was part of a virtual geocache, so had to get a picture!

Found another geocache outside the Whitehorse Telegraph Office, it’s beside the MacBride museum of Yukon History:

Saw this nice looking statue outside one of the government buildings:

There was a beautiful area along the Yukon River that had a walking trail and lots of places to sit and just hang out:

Land of the midnight sun!! It doesn’t get dark anywhere up here! Not in Northwest Territories, not in Watson Lake, and not here in Whitehorse either, at least at this time of year! I woke up in the ‘middle of the night’ like I always do, and took this picture just after midnight:
