An EPIC Journey to BlizzCon 2019

By

BLIZZCON!!  Here is yet another EPIC travel journey I’ve been able to complete in 2019!  This was the 13th BlizzCon, Blizzard Entertainment’s annual gaming convention.  The event has always been super difficult to get a ticket for, as passes sell out within minutes every year when they go on sale.  I have been unsuccessful in getting passes in previous years but this time I was able to go, woo hoo!  I have watched BlizzCon previously with the virtual ticket, so seeing everything live this time around was absolutely amazing and everything I’d hoped it would be.

The big first announcement was of course Diablo IV.  Sounds like the development of it is still in the early stages, but at least IV is official now and there was a demo to play.

There was all kinds of great scenery around the con including a Diablo gaming tower by Corsair and an amazing Lilith statue!

For The Horde!!  There were constantly changing screens of Blizzard art with common catch phrases on display in between panels.

For World of Warcraft, the next expansion, ‘Shadowlands’ was announced, coming sometime in 2020.  Took some pics at the World of Warcraft ‘What’s Next’ panel.  Yes I was in the front row!

For The Alliance!  MEH!!

The Champion’s Treadblade and Warlord’s Deathwheel were on display, and we all know who won THAT competition!! FOR THE HORDE!!  These faction themed choppers were designed back in 2014-ish I think, and there was an in-game voting system where Horde and Alliance players could vote on which one is the best.  The most votes wins!!  The Horde bike won and as a result, Horde players got the in-game bike for free (as a usable mount) along with a feat of strength achievement.  Alliance players can buy their bike in game for 100,000 gold, HA HA!!

The Murky the murloc screen: MRRRGGK MMMRRGLLLM!!

The Hearthstone Tavern was alive and well and even hosting its own Fireside Gatherings.  Hearthstone is Blizzard’s card game.  The upcoming expansion was announced, ‘Descent of Dragons’.  We can always use more dragons!!

Overwatch 2 was announced as well, another huge announcement.  There was a very large demo area set up where people could play a piece of the new game before it gets released to the public.

I should have stood beside this LEGO build of Overwatch’s D.Va and her mech.  Not sure how well the pictures show it, but this thing is massive and taller than me!

A picture of the Anaheim Convention Center sign at night.  It changes colours.  Hmmm, maybe I should have taken a video instead!

Stay tuned for more BlizzCon 2019 adventures!!
