April 18-20, 2025: Now, for the moment we’ve all be waiting for… The main reason we came to Japan in the first place… STAR WARS CELEBRATION! It was held at the Makuhari Messe Convention Centre, from April 18-20, 2025.
Passes for this event went on sale nearly a year in advance, as they usually do. The 3-day and Saturday passes sold out very quickly. By the time I got through the online ticketing queue (around 40 minutes after they went on sale), the 3-day passes were already sold out. I did manage to get single day passes for all three days before Saturday sold out, and I think this was a better deal, not necessarily financially, but because each pass has exclusive badge art on it. So, I got 3 different passes with different art. Awwwww yeah!
We took the train to Kaihimmakuhari Station (say that 5 times fast!) which was a short walk away from Makuhari Messe, and the station was all decked out for Star Wars Celebration:
And look! An advertisement for Beerfest, happening the same weekend as Beerfest in Calgary… Too bad we’ll be gone by then!

The grounds around Makuhari Messe are pretty and have nice landscaping. The weather was absolutely gorgeous as well:
