April 18-20, 2025: For each Star Wars Celebration that I attend, I make sure I visit the Topps trading cards booth. I have been using their Star Wars Card Trader app since 2015, shortly after it launched. It is a card trading game, and for each Celebration there have been special items and digital cards to collect, most which are only available during the time frame of the Star Wars Celebration for that year.
For Star Wars Celebration Japan, Topps was giving away an exclusive pin for each day that you visited their booth and participated in their events. So Friday, Saturday, and Sunday was Luke, Vader, and Leia pins! I actually missed getting in on Friday due to arriving at the booth too late, and the line was too long so I missed the Luke pin. I managed to acquire it by other means though, by trading with another Celebration attendee! I’m not sure if they knew or cared about the significance of the pin, but they gladly traded it to me, so that made my day!
There were some physical cards on display throughout the Topps booth, including this 1977 Star Wars Luke Skywalker, quite the collector’s item I’m sure and probably worth a lot! I have a digital version of it in my app, so that will have to do for me 😛

There was apparently one more pin available and I missed out on it: A sponsor pin, Darth Maul for buying something at the Topps booth. The only thing I saw for sale was a physical box set of cards, and I only saw the sign for it because the actual box set was waaaay SOLD OUT. The Maul pin was long gone too. The box set would have been awesome to have! Aaaaah well, I guess you had to get there on Friday at opening time!
