So I ventured to Puerto Vallarta for my 12 days in Mexico, and stayed at the Friendly Vallarta all-inclusive resort with my folks and my aunt and uncle. I may post numerous animal pictures throughout the documentation of my trip, as I much prefer them (especially birds!) to anything else so be warned! Like this peacock for example, about to check in to the resort, I’m liking the inhabitants already. The resort lobby was wide open from front to back (no windows or doors keeping the fresh air out), and there were always peacocks strutting about which I thought was a nice touch to the atmosphere. As if I’ve never seen a peacock before, but it’s still neat to see them, especially when the feathers are out!

And look, more animals! Well, towel animals. Every day the resort cleaning staff would leave their cute towel art behind for our enjoyment.

Aaaah beer. As much as I would have been happy roaming the city to try out any craft beers I could find, I also felt like that kind of defeated the purpose of staying at an all-inclusive resort. So at the Friendly, there were basically two types of beer, light and dark. I think the light was Corona as per a tap I saw at the inside bar. Upon further investigation of the dark, which was more like a lager and by no means a stout or anything strong tasting, I determined there were actually two different dark beers on site: Negra Modelo and Victoria. I preferred the Victoria for taste. The Negra had a more distinct taste to it which was ok, but meh.
Both are by Grupo Modelo, a large brewery in Mexico which apparently produces a ton of different Mexico beers, including Corona.

We stayed on the 12th floor which was just below the penthouse suites. The view was fabulous. I posted a picture of the back of the resort from the hotel room (see Mexico Fun with no Sun) and here is a pic of the front and side. Oh look, the sun came out and the sky turned blue!
