Every morning Mom and I were downstairs in the resort lobby at Friendly Coffee getting our morning fix. There was no coffee station in the hotel suite but no need really, the coffee shop was open by at least 06:30 am, that was the earliest we made it downstairs, enough time to get a few cups down before our morning walk with my uncle started at 08:00 am sharp!
Friendly Coffee had all the ‘fluffy’ drinks along with good ol’ straight up coffee that was self serve and very good, and that says a lot coming from me, as I only drink my coffee black! Tried their mocha once but wasn’t really a fan of it. My aunt and mom seemed to be fans of the mocha and the cappuccino though!

Each day we walked the same trail which was a beautiful dirt road surrounded by trees. There were other humans out walking, along with a few dogs. The grey dog was especially cute (another missed photo opportunity!) Getting to the trail was an ordeal. I was terrified every day to cross the street in front of the resort! No lights and no walk signals here. There were lights further up and down the road, but those intersections looked just as terrifying. We did have to cross at some lights and we were almost always guessing when it would be safe to cross. The flow of traffic is definitely different than what I’m used to, that’s for sure. As a pedestrian, it seemed like it was truly ‘every man for himself!’

I mapped our route with my Fitbit just about every day, the distance was anywhere from 3.5 km to 5-ish km, depending how far we walked. This daily walk was a wonderful start to the day and really put a dent in getting our 10,000 steps per day goal out of the way early.
