When I enter ‘Malecon, Mexico’ into Google, it comes back with this: “What is the Malecon? – Malecon is a Spanish word that refers to a paved public walkway by a lake or ocean; it’s commonly called an esplanade in English. A favourite pastime in many Mexican cities is walking along the Malecon.” YUP! That’s what it is!
More specifically by Wikipedia: The Malecón is a 12-block, mile-long esplanade in Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico.”
All kinds of sights to see including wishing wells, statues, tons of restaurants and bars, shopping galore, and the shoreline with nice sandy beaches.
Tracked the route with Fitbit of course, only got it one way though, we walked “There and Back Again”; forgot to turn it on until just before we stopped at the bar!

Lots of statues all along the walkway:

And these guys, who spun around all the way from the top to the bottom:

Interesting looking architecture, a church, and…. a tequila distillery 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂

The rock formations below look like unfrozen versions of the ones I saw in Iceland:
