Riding the Waves at the Friendly

By

I miss kayaking so much!  Used to do it every now and then, but it’s been ages.  I’ve been meaning to buy one and get back out on the water, whether it be a trip to the mountains or while camping, or just paddling around the reservoir close to home.  At the Friendly Vallarta resort however, kayaking and paddle boarding were included with our all-inclusiveness, so we took full advantage and went out a few times to paddle around the shoreline. The beach was right there, no travel required, just had to sign out the equipment and go.  Fun times! 🙂 🙂

It was great being on the water again, I’ve always loved being on the water rather than in it.  And the warm weather made it all the better.  The waves were mostly tame out on the open water, even when a larger boat would go by at close range and send more waves our way.  The nasty waves at the shoreline ensured that we got wet when getting in and out of the kayaks.  Thankfully assistance was provided from the Friendly staff, as there was always someone there to help us get the best experience we could and to look out for us just in case!

My aunt Connie seemed to be the only one brave enough to attempt paddle boarding, another thing I would like to give a go, but maybe with ultra-calm water and a seabed or lakebed I can actually touch the bottom of to start, if needed!

And R.I.P. her infamous white hat, the one all the tourists at the resort wanted!!  It was lost forever at sea while paddle boarding.  I still say we should have boarded the Siempre Viva (below) or one of its friends and tried to fish it up!  That would have been another real-life achievement unlocked!!
