Happy Lunar New Year 2020! This year brings us Year of the Rat starting today, January 25th! Figured I’d take in the day with some geocaching activities that included attending a geocaching event and doing a virtual geocache walking tour of Chinatown in YYC. First was the event, for which I received two lucky red envelopes: One for attending, and another because I was born in Year of the Rat! The fortune is very geocache themed!

After the geo-event, I wandered over to the Chinese Cultural Centre to take in the Lion dance, which I believe is an annual tradition of celebrating the new year. So much colour and talent, it was quite the sight to see!
Next up was the virtual geocache, and it required me to answer some questions and visit different sites in order to be able to provide answers. Sien Lok Park was one of the locations:
More sights that may or may not have something to do with the virtual geocache:
And murals, murals, murals! These were in an alley that you would never know existed unless someone or something pointed you there:

‘Twas a very productive day with this cultural adventure, and good exercise on a sunny, winter day in January!
