April 17, 2025: This is as good as it gets folks! And actually, it was pretty good! I’ll admit it, I complained to my buddies, telling them that I could not continue eating burgers and fried chicken and fast food at EVERY meal. I was starting to feel it! I had no problem with McDonald’s every morning, but the rest of the day… UGH! So we agreed to find something ‘Japanese’ and give it a go. I wanted something authentic, or at least different, geeeez! If there was nothing that either of them would or could eat, we would go somewhere else afterward.
While wandering around the bright lights, big city and seeing all the signage everywhere but not knowing what’s good or even what some things were, we had absolutely no idea where to go or which establishment to try. Fortunately, many of the food places had menus with pictures outside their doors, ha! So we just picked one at random and went in. I was grateful to find that it was a sit-down restaurant, and not fast food regardless of ethnicity!
Torikizoku! Apparently it’s a Japanese restaurant chain, a yakitori (chicken) place. Fine by me!

Signage and pictures on the wall… Seemed decent to us and not too expensive looking:

Google Translate at work again… I wanted to know at least partially what I was ordering:

The actual dish (see below) looks pretty much the same as the menu picture, yes? Whatever the broth was… There was soy sauce, chicken flavour, a little bit of zing (heat), and who knows what else! It tasted absolutely amazing! Soooooo good!! My pals did manage to find something on the menu. There was no short supply of plain rice, and some of the chicken skewers were pretty basic looking as well. I believe everyone was happy!

5 Stars!
