Aaaaaah Black Diamond… This town brings back some of my earliest memories of moving to Calgary waaaaaaay back in 1996. Had some buddies down here so spent a lot of time road tripping and bombing around the area. Not actual bombing, I mean ripping around the countryside in my truck!!
I was super stoked to find out about Black Diamond’s Hard Knox Brewery, I already knew it existed due to them having a display and sampling station at my local liquor store in Calgary sometime last year. And of course I sampled! But now, while heading home from my Etherington Creek camping excursion this past weekend, I got to visit the brewery. Super glad they were open on a Sunday, thanks peeps!!
For the beers on display, I believe I have tried most of them previously, ALL of which were great. The Grunt Work (Vienna Ale) was right up my alley with its amber-ish tones, and I brought home the R&R (Raspberry & Rhubarb Ale) which I am looking very forward to trying. It sounds absolutely amazing! The Banana Brown I’m sure is wonderful but I just can’t do banana, ugh! Wish I could but there are many other options here!

Nice entrance here. This is what I saw when I drove by on the way to Etherington Creek and was like, ‘Yep I’m stopping there on the way home!’ I love the paw print flag 🙂

The swag: A new zip-up hoodie (like I need one!) and a 4 pack sampler. Some tried and true (Dusty Trail IPA, Grunt Work Ale), and some new (R&R Ale, Hoof Hearted Dark Lager).

Cheers, I look forward to visiting again!!
