This Saturday’s U of C outdoor group hike was roughly 11 km along the Sugar Momma Trail and part of the Fullerton Loop which is off Highway 66 north of McLean Creek (west of Bragg Creek). A bit rainy, a bit snowy, muddy, and a bit of a climb, whew!
There was definitely some uphill with this one. Apparently our elevation gain was 350 metres. I was winded hiking pretty much the whole way up, but totally fine every time we stopped! The pictures below along Ranger Ridge (Fullerton) show a bit of the height, but this was not the top by any means. We did not do the summit either, as the trail for that reaches through another area and would have taken a heck of a lot longer!

We started the Sugar Momma (Mama) Trail up high, and there was snow! Not a lot but snow nonetheless:
There was less snow near the bottom, the ground was very muddy and wet:
I’ve got one more hike booked a couple weeks from now, another area near Canmore, AB!
