Yes, home! Good ol’ Victoria, BC. It’s been awhile and this time instead of all the usual shopping, we did some real adventuring instead! It’s entirely possible that geocaching may have guided us to some of our intended destinations, but being at the ocean and along the breakwater really brought back memories of the ‘old days’, haha.

It was a beautiful summer day in August, perfect for taking in the sights and the ocean air.
There were a few geocaches on and along the breakwater. All the ‘traditional’ style ones were cleverly hidden considering all the ‘muggles’ wandering around, especially in the thick of tourist season.
Smilies! Managed to add a few to my count. There were many more in the area but time only allows for so many in a day 🙂 There was a mystery cache (the one with the ?) that required a Chirp beacon which I have heard of but never knew what it is for. Now the beacons are apparently hard to come by but I’m keeping an eye out. If I manage to acquire one then I’ll have to come back and figure it out! And by figure it out I mean learn how to use the darned beacon THEN figure out the mystery cache.

A scenic walk, good for some Fitbit steps as well!

Yep, I’m home! I love this shot. It probably helped that the weather was so nice 🙂

Did a touristy thing and visited the Terry Fox memorial, complete with photo op:

And Mile 0!! There is a geocache here, so I started a brand new trackable with a goal to travel from Mile 0 west (Victoria, BC) to Mile 0 east (St. John’s NL). We shall see if and when it completes it’s mission. The trackable already moved and has been to NWT, Nunavut, and Alaska so far!

Went downtown to visit Cherry Bomb Toys (and maybe stop by a few breweries as well – See a future post!) I’m sure if my suitcases didn’t have limited space I would have made many more purchases. In the end I went home with a Warcraft mystery mini that I did not already own: Blackhand!

Even did some golfing. Henderson seems like a beginner-ish type course, not huge distances to cover. Exactly my speed.

It was nice to get out and about, see the sights and get some steps in and oh yeah… Be home again!
