Noob alert! Adventurer in training, right here!! Paracord is supposed to have a variety of uses correct? From clothesline to shoelace to belt to supporting a tent among other things, so why not make one I can wear, a bracelet. It’s pretty stylish too.
This is my first attempt at crafting a bracelet from paracord, this one is called a basic cobra stitch. It wasn’t too bad once it was started. It’s a multi-coloured single cord, and is it just me or is trying to figure out knots from a diagram more difficult than it should be? After fumbling around for a bit, it seemed to just figure itself out, eventually. And somehow it managed to be the perfect size for my wrist! I mean, I kinda measured, but not with a measuring tape or anything, and the length kept shifting while I was attempting to get the first knots (stitches?) in place.
Apparently you’re supposed to pull it apart in an ’emergency’ (see uses above!), but I think I’d need the manual and/or a lot of practice before I would figure out and remember how to tie it back together again. Practice doesn’t hurt though, and there’s lots of other paracord crafting in the book, like dog collars and lanyards and other bracelets.
A lighter is a must-have to meld the ends together if the paracord needs cutting, otherwise the end will fray apart! Although even the the strands underneath have their uses such as sewing thread or fishing line. Good to know?
