Star Wars Celebration Japan: The Show Store

By

April 18-20, 2025: Aaaah the Show Store! A must see for shoppers at any Star Wars Celebration, and the spot where all the Celebration-specific merch is sold. They’ve got it all, from t-shirts and hoodies to hats, toys, trinkets of all sorts, knick knacks, household items, there’s something for everyone. And pins! Anyone participating in the Celebration’s pin trading program (me!) will want to stock up on pins from the Show Store as soon as possible before hitting the floor. See my Path of The Pin Trader post for more on that!

Next time I’m at a Star Wars Celebration Show Store, someone remind me to take pictures of the massive t-shirt and hoodie wall (there were two walls this time), and of the rest of the store too! There were probably 30+ different shirts and tops to choose from, not including the ‘made to order’ ones at the front. I did manage to get a shot of the general lineup outside the store, and fortunately I did NOT have to wait in it! I got lucky ahead of time by being online at the time Show Store line reservations became available, and was able to snag a spot. When I arrived, I was directed to a smaller line where I still had to wait about 45 minutes to get into the store, but that’s far better than the alternative. When I stood in the general line at Chicago Celebration in 2019, it was nearly three hours before my buddy and I were able to enter.

Upon entering the Show Store, there was a screen printing shop where you could pick from a few designs, then choose your shirt colour and size and have it made on the spot. You have to wait 30-45 minutes or so before it’s ready, but that time flies by when you’re browsing the rest of the Show Store. A good thing too because you can’t leave, otherwise you’ll have to wait in the general line to get back in.

At the Show Store entrance, someone was handing out Jar Jar Binks Funko Pops, exclusive to Star Wars Celebration Japan. Gotta have that! Jar Jar gets all the love these days! I also saw this beautiful skateboard with a Grogu and his frogs design. The design is actually wood etched and looks amazing up close! It was a nice to have for sure, but it was big and heavy and expensive… Kind of hard to take home in a suitcase. Not impossible though, just needed another suitcase!

All of the Japanese + Star Wars themed items were so cool!! I got this baseball jersey. The purple and black colour combination looks AWESOME!

Same goes for this hoodie, the colour combination looks great! The hoodie is good quality too, and thick:

I took home these Bad Batch and Loth Cat tees:

A Han Solo in carbonite bento box:

I snatched up pretty much anything ‘Loth Cat’ that I could find, including this Ema charm. According to Google AI, “an ema (絵馬, “picture-horse”) is a small wooden plaque used at Japanese Shinto shrines and Buddhist temples for writing prayers, wishes, or gratitude to the deities. Worshippers hang these plaques on dedicated racks at the shrine, believing the gods will receive their messages.”

Not so Japanese themed was this Kenobi coffee shirt, referencing a certain scene from ‘Revenge of The Sith.’ A COFFEE SHIRT. And clever. Yaaaaaaay!

The Show Store was certainly where I spent the majority of my hard-earned dollars, but it was planned and deliberate, so no love lost in the madness of it all!
