Up Island Jaunt for Craft Beer

More craft beer, yes please!

SMALL BLOCK BREWING

Did a short road trip to Duncan BC and checked out a couple breweries there, one of which was Small Block who did not disappoint! Sampled four brews there: Green Goblin Irish Red Ale (one of my faves as a red that goes without saying), Malardhat Best Bitter (an English style pub beer and not bitter at all), Nail Head Canadian Pale Ale (malty and fruity, not bad, not fave, haha), and the Dagmar India Session Ale (probably my favourite of the four in all its hoppiness!) Thank you Small Block!

RED ARROW BREWING

Another one of Duncan’s finest I’m sure, Red Arrow was a neat little experience! Sampled three beers here, the Piggy Pale Ale, the Sweet Leaf IPA, and the Midnite Umber Ale. How can you not try them for their names alone?! While all were different in taste, I think I’d rank them equal in regard to which I’d have to pick as a fave… Can’t really compare one to the others here! I’ll go with the Umber though since it was most like a brown and the most flavourful (unless you count the hoppy IPA!)

WOLF BREWING

Aaaaand made it to Nanaimo, BC for WOLF Brewing. Great place, great beer, great selection of merch! Sampled the P.A.W.A. (Pale American Wheat Ale), Golden Honey Ale, the straight up India Pale Ale, and I believe my first Nitro, the Black Raspberry & Chocolate Stout. All were nice, the Honey and P.A.W.A. were my faves, surprisingly over the IPA and darker brew! Picked up an amazing hoodie too, ladies cut and super soft interior. It’s soooo comfortable, thanks WOLF!

Until next time, cheers and beers!
