April 15, 2025: A quick post here about the excursion from Osaka back to Tokyo, and some YouTube vids in an attempt to capture how fast the bullet trains travel. The trains felt like they travel faster than they look in these videos, much faster than a C-Train type Transit! They reminded me of an airplane on the runway, as it gathers speed for take off. That’s what it felt like anyway!
A 6 second capture, short and sweet. I guess these show some of the scenery along our travels as well, in addition to how fast the train is travelling:
And a slightly longer one (11 seconds) with an annoying kid making quite the racket. At least they aren’t having a tantrum, but you may want to mute!
I should have captured video of another bullet train going by when my train was stopped at a station to pick up and drop off people along the way. The speed of it and close proximity caused my train to shake, and I want to say it shook violently but that could be a slight exaggeration… But the train shook A LOT!
Vending machine coffee (more on that later!) on the bullet train platform along with a meat and cheese offering on the train. I ordered and pre-paid for the meat and cheese baggie from their menu on my phone and then someone magically brought it to my seat!

Aaaaaand that’s all for Osaka! Tokyo here we come!
